Shihan Brian Long

Master Shihan Brian Long holds the rank of Ku Dan-Hanshi, 9th Degree Black Belt Master Instructor, in Goshin- Do Nagai Ryu Kempo Karate and Samurai Nagai Ryu Jiu Jitsu. Shihan Long has an extensive history in the martial arts as he began his training at the Age of 5. Currently, Shihan Long is the Chief Instructor at the Bob Long School of Self Defense, teaching daily and assisting with the development of all students.

Shihan Long was presented the Menkyo Kaiden of the system upon the death of the late great Grand Master Bob Long. Shihan Long has been recognized by the World Head of Family Sokeship Council, the Worldwide Council of Grandmasters as the inheritor of the system.

His background consists of competitive Full-Contact Karate, Judo, Boxing, Kickboxing, Wrestling and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He is one of the area’s top tournament fighters and self-defense competitors.

Shihan Long has competed in all aspects of the Martial Arts throughout his career. He has won several titles in Kick Boxing, Grappling, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and Wrestling.

Shihan Long is a retired 26-year veteran of the New Jersey State Police and has had the opportunity to be exposed to police training procedures. He has trained numerous state and local law enforcement officers in Marital Arts and Defense techniques.
